The First Esperma Book Grant introduces seven book grant recipients that will be included in Rebo Press’s faction of creatives. Unfortunately, due to the hurdles of the pandemic, the postponed release of book grant winners is continued this year.
Organized by Rebo Press’s founder, Maria Kristelle Jimenez, the First Esperma Book Grant (known as Unang Esperma Book Grant) aims to publish literary works from youth writers within 16 to 35 years of age. The said book grant is also intended to help young writers leverage against the limitation of traditional and academic publishing.
Included in the roster of book grant recipients are Ace Bagtas (Megan, or Podcast in Space), Gab Angeles (Mother’s Daughter), Carlou Espedillon (Takoyaki Boys and Other Stories), Joharah Galvez (An Endless Signal and Other Stories), Iza Maria Reyes (Minsan, Kadalasan), Marren Araña Adan (Pagkakatha ang nasa Gitna ng mga Alternatibong Pagtakas at Tangkang Pagbabalik) and R.B. Abiva (Aripuen: Isang Nobeleta).
The six recipients will receive a publishing subsidy, certificate of recognition, plaque, and complimentary copies of their book. The awarding ceremonies will be held through Rebo Press’s official Facebook page, YouTube channel, and website.
Further updates will be included.
